Common problems in Mangos
At Kolar Mangoes, we are dedicated to providing our customers with the freshest and most delicious mangoes. After harvest, our mangoes are carefully selected, weighed, and placed in boxes filled with grass to assist in ripening. During this journey of 5-7 days, each mango reacts differently to changing temperatures, resulting in a unique and flavorful product. Our team takes pride in ensuring that only the finest quality mangoes reach our customers.
Over Ripe Mangoes
Mangoes can become overripe due to the sugar and nutrients in them, which can encourage the multiplication of bacteria and mold. Overripe mangoes can also be damaged and contaminated with mold if they have fallen from the tree.
Soft Tissue or Spongy Tissue
The spongy tissue is an internal physiological disorder of unknown origin, causing poor quality and unacceptable off-flavor in mangoes. The fruits do not exhibit external symptoms, and the disorder is detected when cutting the fruit. It's caused by the seed entering germination mode inside the fruit, which makes it appear white and spongy. The seed absorbs nutrients from the surrounding flesh of the fruit.
